About Our Child Care Facility in Edison, NJ
The John Kenney Child Care Center is the fulfillment of a promise made by developer Isaac Heller to the people of Edison. In 1987, Mr. Heller, Chairman of the Board of Heller Industrial Parks, Inc., established the John Kenney Child Care Center as a non-profit corporation. We provide affordable quality child care and are open to all families, welcoming children from the broader community.
Among Isaac Heller’s strongest allies was the family of John and Mary Kenney. Mr. Kenney helped defeat the construction of a garbage dump and incinerator which had been slated for the site. They were the parents of nine children, five of whom were local police officers. Mr. Kenney’s civic pride and love of children represented the best of our community.
It is a fitting tribute for our child care center to bear his name.
From opening day, our center has gained national attention as a model for corporate America. Articles about our center have appeared in the New York Times, Fortune Magazine, and Time Magazine. Visitors, from as far away as Japan and Denmark, have come to tour our center.
John Kenney Child Care Center was rededicated on October 9, 2000 to mark its removal from its former site off Mill Road to a newly completed, larger building a few hundred feet away.

Our Team
Every team member we hire is carefully screened and receives yearly training for professional growth. All members are CPR and First Aid certified. We select members who are enthusiastic about teaching children and have a passion for what we do. To learn more about our team, click here.
